I am using a theme named Hammer and I am wondering if I can create a slideshow where each image is a link to another section of the website?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can create a slideshow gallery by following the instructions here:

And you can place a slideshow gallery on a Page, which can then be set to be your home page, by following these instructions:
That said, I’m not certain the links can be customized to point to specific parts of your site.
It’s possible that some of the WordPress.com themes support this use case.

It all depends on which section you want to implement this slider.
Hammer doesn’t offer using slider itself, but if you are paid plan user, you can add a slider plugin in admin panel and then insert the shortcode into the page content. -
