front page ticker

  Sorry if this has been suggested a thousand times before or already exists, but would it would be cool if users could add a ticker to their blog that remains at the top of the page. If this does exist, it’d appreciate anyone letting me know, if not, I think it could be a nice little feature! It would especially be helpful if a blog update is overdue, in the works so people can let everyone know without putting up a full post. It might also just be a handy way to give a thought/quote/idea that’s popped into your head of the day!

  No, I don’t want an entire post stuck to my front page… first it looks lame and secondly, it distracts from new posts. A ticker would be much better and would just be a strip at the very top of the page with a continuously looping line of text to write something in.

  How about an animated gif in your sidebar? Would that work?

  What about using Twitter with the RSS widget? That’s how I use it.
