Front Page View
-
My front page is pretty cluttered with all my long posts right there. If I were to pop in as an outsider, I wouldn’t want to read it because it’s a great big wall of text.
I tried changing the reading>settings>show at most options to lower numbers, but when I do that, the archives only show one post at a time too, instead of the full archives – I want to keep the archives full.
I would like to have the front page show the full latest post, then just summaries or headlines to previous posts below it, while keeping the archives full. How do I do that?
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Splitting content – “the more tag”
You can split the posts of your blog so that only the first part of the post is displayed on the home and archive views. When you do this, a link will be placed directly after your excerpt, pointing the reader to the full content of the article.

The number of posts per page is set in Settings > Reading. Currently that setting applies to all post pages: you cannot set a certain number for the main page and a different number for category or archive pages.
