front page widgets not showing

  Hi I’m using sela theme for the url attached here and it’s perfect; simple, easy, and got all the widgets necessary for the site. So I recommended it to a friend, but his sela theme has less options than what I got (he’s using his own domain and hosting/not thru wordpress). his sela theme doesn’t have ‘colors & backgrounds’ and the widgets are few and not showing on the front page like mine. He wants that 3 front page widgets like mine showing. And there’s no widgets such as ‘Gallery’, ‘Instagram’ like mine. Can anybody help me why we have the same theme with different contents? Thanks in advance for your help.

  Hi there,

  The theme which you and your friend is using is the same. However your site is hosted on WordPress.COM and your friend is using WordPress.org on a different host.

  The difference between WP.com and WP.org can be found here –
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  And this is why your theme comes with all these built in functionality like Gallery, Instagram widgets. All of these features are made available like a switch (on/off) or a piece of puzzle which you can drag and drop in the right area.

  But with self hosted WordPress (WP.org), it is completely different. Everything has to be added manually. Like installing plugins, widgets. Or coding the desired functionality. There is freedom to do anything in a self hosted version of WordPress but it has to be done manually. :)

  All of these additional widgets which are missing on your friends site, can be added by visiting WordPress.org
