Frontpage links to articles without subject

Hello,
Our blog is really just a log of entries. The frontpage lists all of them at once (well, as many as is allowed). Most of the articles do not have a subject. With the theme we are using it makes the publishing date look like a subject. Which is what we want to achieve. However, those “subjects” don’t get a link acnhor. So readers can easily copy the link to paste it somewhere else. Is it possible to link the dates in a wordpress.com-hosted blog? If not, anyone has an idea on how to go about this problem?

No it is not possible to link the dates. That would require access to the underlying theme PHP script files (not to mention a good knowledge of PHP script) to accomplish, and we do not have access to those files since this is a multi-user platform and we all share the same files.
The only way really is to title the posts that you make. There is another reason for doing this: The search engines use post titles to help determine the nature of the content of the post. If there is no title, then they don’t have that to go on so consequently your posts will be given far less weight in their indexes. Results: poor page rank in search engines which means it will be harder for people to find your blog.

Yes, I realize SEO-wise it’s not wise to go subject-less. But for the format of our blog it’s important that there are no subjects, so SEO will have to suffer.
Good to know I can stop looking for ways to automatically link the dates then. Now maybe I can make some CSS changes to hide the date and manually enter the date in the subject. It will make the permalinks look a bit funny, but again, that’s something we’re willing to sacrifice. Subjectless blogging is that important to us. =)

OK. Now we decided to manually enter the weekday name as the subject for articles. It actually make the log-format we want to achieve even clearer.
