Frozen Widgets
-
I am attempting to activate the Categories Widget and the Follow Blog Widget. The instructions indicate to drag the widget across to the side bar on the right, in order to activate them. Everytime I attempt to drag the Widget nothing happens. What shall I do? Please advise.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you thistimethisspace. May I ask, does the widget work only with Firefox 12 and not Internet Explorer 9?
-
@ theslysilverfox – I find the drag and drop of widgets to be a pain, and I am using Firefox 12.
I have no idea if IE would be a problem with this, too, but…
In your dashboard, go to Appearance/Widgets, and once that opens click on “Screen Options” in the top right hand corner. In the drop down menu click on “Enable Accessibility Mode”.
Now, instead of dragging and dropping, there is the word Add next to the widgets, and when you click on that it brings up a table and you can choose there which sidebar or footer, which position, etc.
Might be worth a try! :-) And if you hate that, just go back to Screen Options and click “Disable Accessibility Mode” and it goes back to the drag and drop.

Sensuousinkspiller, thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, the Screen Options button is not working either……………

It could be that you’re running Windows 7. Two people reported similar, but not identical, problems yesterday, upgraded their Windows, and the problems vanished. Try that.

If that fixes it report it back. if it doesn’t, DEFINITELY report back. We need to track the things that work or don’t.
-
Update: I went back to the Widgets section and for some odd reason, everything seems to be working fine! Sensuousinkspiller, thanks for the Screen Options tip! It is indeed a lot easier to add than drag.
