Frustrated and really lost!
-
I recently acquired a new client who has an existing site, http://southerntiersolarworks.org/ and needed to make modifications. I accidentally clicked “save and publish” without realizing that it would change the whole site. Thankfully, I found out which theme was originally used, however, now everything is unorganized and looks horrible! There are 2 columns instead of 3. I can’t find a way to edit the footer. I really need help!!!! I have looked at different posts here, but see nothing in my dashboard to help create a child theme or follow through with any of the suggestions to the similar problems. Or, at least I don’t understand…. HELP!!!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. You should be able to change the column layout for the theme from Appearance ->Theme Options in the WP-Admin dashboard. Here’s the current theme’s support doc for more information: https://wordpress.com/themes/yoko/
To edit the footer you will need the Custom Design upgrade so you can add the necessary changes to CSS. Please note, however, that it is against the Terms of Service to remove the WordPress.com or theme credits. You may only add your own information in addition to what is already there.
You can post your question in the CSS customisation forum for info on what code will be needed to make this change:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/There is no way to create a child theme in WordPress.com. In fact, there is no FTP access or any ability to create/upload custom themes or plugins, like there is on the self-hosted WordPress.org platform.
