Frustrated Classroom of students with the "Add media" icon…
-
I am a classroom technology teacher where we have incorporated WordPress into the curriculum.
Half the students the program works excellent.
Several of my students in our state of the art computer lab using WordPress.com accounts, click on the Upload/Insert “Add media” icon and nothing happens. The upload/Insert appears to highlight blue. This is extremely frustrating to my students and myself as I do to have an answer. Often times, I will ask the student to switch computers, and the option will work, and at home. Yet another student will log on to the same computer which had difficulty with a separate account and the feature will work with a new log on.
So, the issue is not local, it appears to be a WordPress bug. Is this a recognized problem? Are they any solutions?
Secondly, one student who types into her post box the text does not appear. The Cursor moves to the right as if the text it white. She can highlight the text and it will appear in blue, but yet she cannot see what she is typing.
In both these situations, the kitchen sink is not an option and the other icons are not clickable.
We are using Windows 7 32 bit, IE 9, &, behind sonic wall, however, we added Word Press to the unblock list. -
If IE 9 is using compatibility mode in WordPress.com, it apparently functions like IE7, which isn’t supported. It might be as simple as changing that setting. http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/How-to-use-Compatibility-View-in-Internet-Explorer-9
