Frustrated & Fed Up!
-
For the second time now, I have been struggling with my wordpress.com account. It behaves like I am not signed in, even when I know I am. Today, it blocked me from posting (half way through a post!) saying I was not authorized to post! Somehow, I am being signed out when I’m not doing it. No, no one else has my log-in info.
This happened about six month ago, and then miraculously stopped. Now it’s doing it again.
What’s going on and how can it be stopped? -
Hi there,
Is this happening in the WP Admin dashboard (https://rainbowreflectionshome.wordpress.com/wp-admin/) or the WordPress.com interface (https://wordpress.com/posts/)?
Do you have to log-in again after that error message?
-
Hi there,
The error message I referenced came mid-posting, so half-way through writing a post, and I did have to log in again. As soon as finished and posted, WordPress behaved as if I was signed out again.
As I said, this is the first time I had gotten that error message, but WordPress has been behaving as if I am not logged in for some time now. -
Hmm. That is odd.
Let’s make sure there’s nothing odd being saved in the browser cache as a first step. Go ahead and clear that. Then see if the behavior continues:
-
I have cleared my cache twice and restarted the computer. I have checked any possible site blockers. I have none.
I’ve just tried to log in through normal means and it still won’t keep me logged in. When I try to like other wordpress sites, on the site not through the reader, my “like” won’t register. I get a black popup that disappears quickly.
Any other ideas? -

Hi there,
Just popping in to let you know I downloaded Firefox, and WordPress behaves as it should, leading me to conclude that the trouble is on the Google browser.
How irritating! -
That is really odd. Curiously, if you just log out and log back into Chrome does that help at all? I’m wondering if the cookie is having issues and just needs to be reset.
-
It does not help. I’ve done this twice. No change. I have emptied my cache, turned off my computer, turned it back on. I have dumped all my browsing history. No change. I have no idea how to reset the cookie from my end. Is this something that can be done on WP’s end?

Hi there,
I know you mentioned, you checked every possible blocker – have you tried disabling any Chrome extensions that you have installed?

Here’s how to delete a specific cookie.
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=enThere is some difference between your Incognito tab and your regular one, so … there’s got to be something in the browser.
As one more idea, would you consider using Chrome’s People > Add Person, and try logging in to see if you see the same problem there?
