  getting very frustrated- I want a WEBSITE, not a BLOG- but every time i choose a theme to build with, it converts to BLOG. NO BLOG. WANT WEBSITE. HELP :( I’ve been at this for over a week fighting my way through. So done!

  You need a clear comprehension of the differences between pages and posts: https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

  If you want to build a site, set the front page to use a static page you create: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
  Then, simply don’t use the Posts functionality – just stick to Pages.

  All WordPress.com sites will include a blog, but depending on the theme you use the blog can be more or less prominent on your site.

  Generally themes give you the option to display a “static front page” or your “posts page” as the front page of your site. (instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/)

  That’s a great step towards making your site less bloggy. I recommend reading through the tips on the support page at the top to learn more about making your site appear the way you want.
