FRUSTRATED! Should I go to WIX instead?

  • Unknown's avatar

Your info does not state the following:

    1. Premium Plan – 13GB storage. How many 1 or 2 minute videos can I store?
    2. Can I link my Youtube Video instead to the site?
    3. I have my own domain (4see.com). If I purchase Premium, then do I get my site to show 4see.xxx – or how will it appear?
    4. Your themes are limited – I don’t see anything with ‘moving’ pictures like most web sites. Am I missing any?
    5. Do I still need to pay for the theme once a premium plan is purchased?

    Please respond ASAP.

    Thanks

    Hi 4seedesigns,

    1. Premium Plan – 13GB storage. How many 1 or 2 minute videos can I store?

Video sizes vary and it largely depends on compression, resolution and frame rate. As a rough estimate I’d say around 100MB for 1 minute. Based on that, 13GB would be enough space to approx 130 videos. But you can experiment with reducing the file size.

    2. Can I link my Youtube Video instead to the site?

Embedding videos from YouTube would be a great way of saving storage space. This guide explains the steps:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/#embedding-with-a-url

    3. I have my own domain (4see.com). If I purchase Premium, then do I get my site to show 4see.xxx – or how will it appear?

Yes, you can use Domain Mapping to connect the domain you already own, to your WordPress.com site:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

Each paid plan includes a domain credit which you can use to map an existing domain or register a new one.

    4. Your themes are limited – I don’t see anything with ‘moving’ pictures like most web sites. Am I missing any?

Our Theme Showcase contains all of the WordPress.com themes available:

    https://theme.wordpress.com/

I’m not sure what you mean by moving pictures, do you have a link to an example of this on another site?

    5. Do I still need to pay for the theme once a premium plan is purchased?

No, the Premium plan includes unlimited access to Premium themes:

    https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sort/premium/

I’m happy to answer any other questions!

Thanks again. What about Font Options? The FREE version has NONE. Do the other plans offer a variety of fonts and formatting of text?

    Hi 4seedesigns,

What about Font Options? The FREE version has NONE.

The Font panel in your Customizer provides a range of free Google fonts to choose from. You can select a base font for the text and a heading font:

    Change Your Site’s Fonts

Selecting a font will display some sizing options underneath.

Do the other plans offer a variety of fonts and formatting of text?

Premium and Business plan owners can use Custom Design — a feature that gives you more control over your sites look and feel:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

CSS can be used to add additional styles to your site beyond what is available in the default Customizer with the Free plan:

Let me know if you need any more information.
