Frustrating issue with Front page of Gateway

  • Unknown's avatar

I am trying to remove sections at bottom of my front page that came with the theme. When you scroll down on the home page, there’s a search bar plus a video widget at the bottom. I would like to remove these features, but can’t find where to do that –customizer, page settings, widgets, media library.

    Current theme: Gateway

    Website: http://www.phase3c.com

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

    there’s a search bar…

The “Nothing Found” message and the search bar are a result of there being nothing in the Featured Content section of the static front page with the Homepage Template assigned. The “Featured Content” part of the Homepage Template section of the Gateway theme guide says:

Gateway allows you to feature up to three Posts or Pages, by tagging them, and then entering that tag in the Featured Content area of the Customizer. Any Featured Images assigned to these Posts or Pages will get displayed in the Featured Content area.

If no tag is specified, the Homepage template will display your last three posts, excluding Sticky posts.

The site doesn’t have any published posts.

plus a video widget at the bottom. I would like to remove these features, but can’t find where to do that

See the “Video URL and Video Content” part of the Homepage Template section of the Gateway theme guide. Simple emptying the relevant field at Customize > Theme Options > Homepage Template > Video URL and Video Content will remove these items from the front page.

I didn’t realize I could include Pages as featured content, thanks! And thanks for the tip on removing the video! Frustration relieved :)
