Frustration from a newbie
-
I am trying to wrap my brain around the structure of my website and I can’t seem to figure out how to get it to work. I’m new to this and have a very specific page structure I’m trying to accomplish with my blog, so I apologize in advance.
A few things I’ve done so far:
– Using the SIGNIFY DARK theme.
– Created a number of posts, all of which I have assigned categories to. It is an automotive site so I create posts on, for example, Fords Chevy, and Dodge and I’ve assigned the appropriate category to each post.
– Created a home page with a custom menu:
– Latest Posts
– Blogs
– About
– Contact
– Created pages to mirror each category (i.e. a Ford page, Chevy page and a Dodge page)
– On each of those pages I have a small description of what I’m covering on that page as well as some photos. These are static pages.
– Created buttons on the “Blogs” page linking to the Ford, Chevy, Dodge page (not category)What I am wanting to do, and can’t seem to figure out, is have this structure:
– Main welcome/landing page that DOES NOT show recent posts and has the custom menu on it.
– Latest Posts menu option: this page is the one that needs to show all posts, regardless of category, in reverse chronological order (currently this behavior is on the homepage)
– Blogs menu option: (This page shows only the buttons I create)
– Ford button (goes to a static page with a short description and photos specific to Ford)
– All posts with category Ford
– Chevy button (goes to a static page with a short description and photos specific to Chevy)
– All posts with category Chevy
– Dodge button (goes to a static page with a short description and photos specific to Dodge)
– All posts with category Dodge
– About
– ContactI can actually create this structure except for one major flaw. I’d like the posts to show up on the actual static page itself with the corresponding subject. So, the Ford page, with all the static info and photos up top, followed beneath by the posts in reverse chronological order with the category of Ford. Right now, I can only get it to open a the category in a separate page with the category posts. I’d like them on the same page as the static page.
I really hope I didn’t make this sound too confusing. Again, I apologize if I did and thank you in advance.

I just re-read my question and it sounds confusing. Let me see if I can rephrase the structure I’m interested in:
A static main/welcome/landing page with only a menu and no recent posts. (For simplicity’s sake, lets just pretend there is only one menu option on that landing page called “Blogs”)
I click on “Blogs”. It sends me to a page that shows 3 buttons…”Ford”, “Chevy”, “Dodge”
I click on the “Ford” button and get sent to a Ford page with a static, unchanging description/photos up top, and all posts that I have categorized with “Ford” showing beneath in reverse chronological order.
What I am unable to do is get the posts to show beneath the static information.
