FTP a plugin

    Hi,

I would like to use the qTranslate plugin I found in the wordpress community. I also have downloaded filezila to ftp the files.

I tried to use the account and password, and the message in the filezila says that could establish the connection and is waiting for the welcome message but after a while it says that it can’t connect. Does somebody know what I should set in the host or if I need some additional permission for the user? I would like to use that plugin in 2 wordpress.com blogs (very simple blogs for now, we are doing one step at a time, as we are new writing blogs) .

Any help will be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Rosana

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t use FTP, and you cannot use Plugins on a WordPress.com blog. They are only for WordPress.ORG blogs on paid hosting.

I’m guessing the plugin is a translation plugin. Use this instead: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/02/14/translation-widget-for-wordpress-com-blogs/

Thanks for the information. I also found few hosting compnaies offering wordpress as a website builder tools, are you able to use the plugins in those case?

I really would like to have a multilingual blog more than a free translation of a website, google is also doing those translation and are never nice. I don’t have much knowledge about how to build a website, for what I’ve been looking in few hosting companies the tools are not offering the multilingual functionality, you have to do it manually. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks and Regards
