FTP Information?

    Hello,
    I heard that it is common to receive an email that gives the information to perform FTP transfers (for the installation process of WordPress onto the desktop).
    I never received an email with the FTP information, so it would be greatly appreciated if I could get that information.

    Hi there,

    Since WordPress.com hosts all of the source files for WordPress and all of the associated themes on our servers, there is no need for you to ever create an FTP connection to our servers. The only files which you will ever need to upload will be media files to your site, which you can upload via our web interface that you can get to by navigating to your Dashboard and then to your Media Library.

    In case there is any confusion, there is a difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. We have a help article which walks you through those differences:
