setting up an ftp on my wordpress hosted blog. I am not sure how to do this. I am going to be uploading files remotely for my blog and want to see how this can be done without creating new pages.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry no FTP access at WordPress.COM – reliability & security issues

You can upload files to your media library

Dashboard >> Media >> Add new

    File Types

    Accepted File Types

Thank you so much. That is unfortunate to hear as that will not get it done for what I need to accomplish. We are trying to upload track and field results live as the events finish. Too much to add them to the library and then get them ‘live’.

I am thankful for your info. and how quickly you provided the feedback.

    You be welcome

You can also upload them into a Post or Page – that saves a step or two – you do need to be a bit careful with the name for the file – the time required is just a couple of minutes once you get used to it or make a draft Post ahead of time

do a few tests and see how you like it

The other option is to get your own hosting and install WordPress.ORG software – but more work and costs more –

Again thank you. I will have to look into own hosting as I really need to have the files posted with “no steps”

Give the “Drag and drop” file uploading a try – about as easy as you can get.

The only way to cycle access quicker is if viewers have direct access to the folder on a server so you don’t need to make a Post

You be welcome & good luck
