How do I register my wordpress account with an FTP server?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you are using WordPress.com, then you have no FTP access.
If you are hosting your own site (ie paying for a host), and using wp.ORG software, then you have FTP access to upload whatever you like.
There are different kinds of WordPress, so here is an article with the details:

Oh, and just wondering, is there a certain ftp username and password for connecting my FTP server to wordpress? This is the part I am having trouble with!

If you are using WordPress.com, then you have no FTP access.
The site linked to your name is a WordPress.COM blog – the domain name of your blog makes no difference

Domain mapping upgrade only buys you the name: you are still hosted on wp.com.
You bought a domain name with a domain mapping upgrade, but are still hosted here. The domain name points your readers here: the name is sort of a signpost which points your readers to where you are hosted.
At work, we own several domain names (.org,.com, various spellings), but there is only one which hosts our site (not wordpress). The names we own direct people to our live site. Domain mapping is similar.
Hosting on wp.com is free. and you pay for a name via domain mapping.
All the wp.com rules and limitations apply.
If you want FTP access, then you must pay someone (GoDaddy, Netscape, etc) to host your site. Then you can use the (free) WordPress.ORG software to make it work.

WHY do you want FTP access? Let’s get right to the heart of it. You don’t seem familiar with it, so I’m wondering why you need it.
