Full Feeds Not Going To Planets

    I run a small planetplanet site at http://planet.ubuntu-maryland.org and am having a problem with feeds from wordpress.com.

    The feeds come through as though the summary option were checked rather than the full feed option under the dashboard>settings>reading option. I’ve tried using both options without any difference in what the feed shows. The address I was using for testing was http://chuckf.wordpress.com/feed both with and without a trailing /.

    If I look at the feed via tiny tiny rss I see truncated feeds under either option.

    If I look at it through Thunderbird on Ubuntu I see the full feed or summary with the appropriate setting.

    I admit on first blush the solution appears to be ‘go to the feed readers and get them to fix it’. I think it’s a wordpress.com issue due to the fact that I have other WP installations feeding to those readers without any problem.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi Chuck,

    Your feed definitely contains full content. WordPress full content feeds contain both the full posts, and summaries as well (for readers that don’t understand full content feeds). If I had to guess I’d say your planetplanet feed reader gets confused by that. It’s not something we can fix.
