Full image on home page — Theme?

  Hi folks.

  WP newbie here — not at all certain this is the right forum. We’re in the process of reviving a long-ignored website and would like to use a theme that can accommodate a static homepage consisting only of a full sized image (actually a slideshow) and navigation bar. The other pages would have the header, nav bar, sidebar widget things, and of course content. For historical reasons we’re using Pilcrow, but we’re not wedded to it, so if there’s a better theme for this we don’t mind switching (Pilcrow does a fine job with everything else, I have to say). Right now if I choose “feature image” for a static homepage it crops the image and uses it for a header image that is different from the other headers. Any ideas on how we could do the full-image slideshow homepage, in Pilcrow or otherwise?

  Modularity Lite has front page slideshow feature.
  All themes can have static front pages.
  All static front pages can have slideshows.

  On Modularity Lite, I got the theme slideshow working great but I like remove the “latests” posts at the bottom of the screen. is this a WordPress.com issues or theme issues?

  Neither. If you don’t want your readers to find your earlier posts, you will need to not make more posts OR buy the Custom Design upgrade to hide that.

  So if I buy the “Custom Design” Is it an easy “Click to Remove” feature or do i need to write my own css?

  ok I upgraded to Custom design..

  I just want to get the “junk” at the bottom of the slideshow “hidden”
  or removed.

  This theme slideshow won’t work with a WP Static page settings.
