full page width panels
-
I am using Pique, and I would like the panels to stretch the full width of the screen when I am on a desktop display monitor, as it does when viewing on a tablet or phone. I don’t want to see the background picture. Is this possible?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can change the width of the Pique layout with Custom CSS, which is available with the Premium or Business plans.
If you decide to upgrade, let us know and we’ll be glad to help with the code.

I have a couple of more questions. If we go with the Premium plan, we don’t need a domain name we already have one. Is that a problem?
If we use the CSS code to stretch the panels to full width what happens after a year if we cancel our subscription to the plan, do you take away the CSS coding and our website goes back to the smaller panels?
And lastly is there a set number of panels for the theme or can we insert and/or remove panels to suit our needs?

No problem there. You’ll be able to map the domain you already have to your WordPress.com site at no extra charge.

Exactly. If you cancel the plan, you’ll no longer have access to the CSS panel, and any CSS customizations will no longer be applied.
And lastly is there a set number of panels for the theme or can we insert and/or remove panels to suit our needs?
Pique supports up to eight panels.
Just let me know if you have any other questions, and I’ll be glad to help.

OK you’re talking to a novice here. I started out just looking for a new theme for our church’s website to give it a new look. It looks like with your Premium or Business plans that you would be our web host replacing our current ISP. Am I in the ballpark? If so, what about our email addresses that we now have with our ISP? I think we have 7 or 8, is there a limit? And I am not sure how much storage space we would need, I don’t think we have a large site, but I’m guessing that email would count against it.

If you build your site here on WordPress.com, we would be your web host.
An ISP is something different – an Internet Service Provider provides an Internet connection, though they may offer other services as well.
We don’t host email here on WordPress.com, so if you need full email services, you can add a third-party service, as described here:
If you only need email forwarding, up to 5 forwarding addresses are included:

As our web host would you provide internet connection also or would we need to keep our current ISP?

My Pastor asked me to upgrade us to the Premium plan so we can get the CSS coding for our website that we talked about before. But when I click on the Start with Premium button, step one wants me to create a new site. I don’t need to do that since we already have one. Also we are going to stick with our current ISP, as they are our web host and provide us with email addresses. So do I type in our website address in the first box, or leave it blank?

Hi there – if you go to My Sites > Plan, you should be able to upgrade from there without creating a new site.
https://wordpress.com/plans/office409.wordpress.comAlso we are going to stick with our current ISP, as they are our web host and provide us with email addresses.
Please be careful before you map your domain to your WordPress.com site, since it needs to be done in a special way in order to make sure your email continues working. A Happiness Engineer can walk you through it if you need help. Once you upgrade to Premium, you’ll be able to access live-chat and email support, accessible here:

One last question, well for now. Do we need to sign up for the Premium plan or can we get the CSS coding we need with the Personal plan?
-
The Personal plan does not come with custom CSS; you would need Premium or Business.
If you have further pre-sales questions, please feel free to start a new thread. Thanks!
