Full post not showing in category archives/menu
-
Good morning fellow WordPressers. I’ve stumbled upon a problem and need a little help. I’ve recently made a menu in an effort to categorize some of my posts, most notably my Tech Tutorials and the Weekly Photo Challenges. I’ve noticed on my Weekly Photo Challenge page/menu that if I post just the picture, only the title will show. The reader must click on the title to see the actual picture. On the “homepage” it’s fine. Here’s what I’m talking about. Here is the link to my homepage:
http://www.jcdickerson.wordpress.com – here you can see the entire post.
http://jcdickerson.wordpress.com/category/weekly-photo-challenge/ – here you see just the title of the post under the “weekly photo challenge” page
http://jcdickerson.wordpress.com/2012/01/14/weekly-photo-challenge-peaceful/ – here you see the entire post again, this time under the weekly photo challenge page (which is just a menu with the category “weekly photo challenge” selected.
My question is, is there a way to view the full post (including picture) under the weekly photo challenge page/menu?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. It depends on the theme. I suggest you read this article as it may offer a suitable workaround.

Plicrow is a theme which can display custom excerpts in category and archive pages, including pictures.

Note: embeds such as videos and shortcodes (gallery for example) will not appear. -
Here is the support document about custom excerpts:

Thank you both for the prompt responses. I have decided to utilize the excerpt function and am satisfied with the results. Now, I can configure the post to display the full image, along with title on my Weekly Photo Challenge page/menu.
Thanks again!
