The change you made is designed to change the view in your RSS feed so that’s why it didn’t update the way you wanted.
I did a little research, and I don’t think there is a way to make the change you want site wide so long as your blog is hosted on WordPress.COM. (You could make the change by updating the php code on a wordpress.ORG blog, but that’s a whole other thing.)
You could manually add the “more” tag to each post where you want it to cut off.
Also note that it’s a violation of the wordpress.com terms of service to have a plagiarized or duplicated blog.

If your material is plagiarized, Google will penalize you whether or not you post the full material on the front page.

No, my content is fresh and I write it myself. I was just asking you that I’ve write a fresh and unique content and post it on my blog. Now, my post is showing on Homepage as well as on post detail page so it could be same content on two URLs and I can be penalized by Google so I want to know a way how to show post summary on homepage while full post on post detail page.
Hope now you can clearly understand, what am I asking for?
Thanks,

Your problem is the layout of the theme you are using. That is how the theme is build that means there is nothing you can do than changing the theme and using the theme that has that feature.

If you want to display only excerpts on the front page of the blog followed by read more links, you can insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/Alternatively, you can switch to using a theme that automatically displays front page excerpts. This is a list of active themes on WordPress.com that use the excerpt instead of full post content. Here are the themes that do provide that feature > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/theme-with-automatic-excerpts?replies=13#post-1396410
NOTE: Doing either one is not a duplicate content issue.
