  Many of the Word Press themes seem to allow very large pictures; take “Eighties” for example. However, when I try to make one of my pictures fill the page like the sample in “Eighties” I am forced to either crop or compress the image. Other themes seem to allow users to fill an entire page with an image, and I can’t figure out how to do that, either.

  Any help will be appreciated!

  Hi there,

  Your theme does have a couple of options for large photos. They are explained here:

  Could you try adding an image following the instructions provided there an let me know if you still have trouble?

  Liz, the pictures you allude to in the instructions are pictures that are part of a blog post. I want to place a large picture as the background of my website. How might I accomplish

  that?

  BTW–I got a request for a review of your assist, but never knew that you had replied, until I got the review request, and I checked the box that should have triggered an email when you responded. Didn’t get it.

  Thanks for clarifying, I did misunderstand your question. :)

  You can add a background image from this page (as it looks like you’ve done before)
  https://firstimpressionsvideo.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-background

  If you want the site to have just one big background picture, you need to pick something very large–at least 1500px wide. Then, make sure you choose the No Repeat option. You may also want to play with the Position and Attachment options to see which ones you like better.

  I checked the box that should have triggered an email when you responded. Didn’t get it.

  Hmm. That’s strange. Hopefully you’ll get the notification this time :)

  YEAAAYYY!! It worked! I resized the image a bit as you suggested and it looks really cool! Take a look when you have a sec, and thanks again.
