Full text instead of summary (posts)
-
Hi!
I want my posts to be fully visible at my homepage. As it is now there is just a summary of the post and I have to press it just to be linked to another site (to the posts site).
I read a post about it (remove “read more”) that said to paste in the custom css below, but it didn´t work.
.home .moreLink {
display: none;
}Please help me!
Best regards

Hi there,
May I please confirm something with you? Have you read the custom design frequently asked questions https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions Does Customize let me edit HTML?

Yes I did, but i probably don’t understand it. Because if I i choose another theme, there are some that show my posts with its whole content.
AND there is a alternative in the adminpanel under settings–>read –> For each article in a feed show: full text or summary.
So for me it seems possible but as i said, maybe i dont understand.
And if i choose full text that dosn´t work either.

Hi Fanny!
AND there is a alternative in the adminpanel under settings–>read –> For each article in a feed show: full text or summary.
The option you’re referring to here only impacts how your posts appear in emails, rather than on your actual site.
Whether or not your theme displays a post’s full text or an excerpt by default comes down to a design choice from the theme’s author, which is why you noticed some variation between our themes.
Port displays excerpts as part of its design and there’s no built-in setting or way to workaround this using custom CSS. The only workaround would be for you to copy/paste the full text of the post to its custom excerpt field. We have more information about creating custom excerpts here, if you’re interesting that workaround:
Another alternative is to switch to a theme that either displays a post’s full text by default or that supports Content Options (a feature that would allow you to change the default way a post is displayed).
Some examples of themes that have a large header area, like Port, but display a post’s full text (or support Content Options) include Luxury, Karuna, and Lodestar. Take a look and let us know if you’d like some more theme suggestions!

Hi!
Thank you so much for all your suggestions and for the help. Notised that I still have to open the post to see all the pictures if I use the custom excerpt field, but that was a god ide!
I´ll just have to look for another theme then, the only one I hadn´t seen before was Luxury. It´s not as “clean” as i want it to be, It´s hard to find a theme where everyting looks like I want it to, haha. Hopfully I´ll stumbel across something else!
Thanks again, I´ll contact the suport next time!
Best regards
