Full-width?
-
Hello,
I’d like the content column of my blog to be much wider than it is in any of the themes. Even if I choose a full-width template the content column is still only about 50% of the page width.
I’m hosted with wordpress.com, http://gavinpayneuk.wordpress.com
Open to all suggestions,
Thanks,
Gavin

First off, just because you might have a 2500px wide monitor doesn’t mean everyone does. In fact, over 40% are still on 1024 x 768 resolution. Only 17% are on 1280px wide resolutions and only 4% on 1680px wide. You always have to think of your visitors first and foremost.
Coraline and Plicrow give you 990px of width, fusion gives you 964px and Modularity lite and zbench give you 950.
You are currently using Misty Look, which is a very, very, very, very old theme and was designed when most monitors were below 800px in width.
Under the influence allows you to change the theme width under theme options.

Thanks, I don’r want mega-width, just more than 800 etc.
Sounds like there are some options to look into.

Yeah, there are quite a few now. All the new themes added this year are much wider than the older themes.
