Full width images in the Tonal template?
-
This is a question specifically related to the Tonal theme: I’m trying to set up a blog and I can’t get my images to display at full width (i.e. I can’t get the images to be the widest part of the page, although that is how the Tonal theme is showcased on the page where you choose themes). The uploaded images are 1024 px or more, so this problem is not due to the image size in itself, and I have clicked the box for full size. Any tips or ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you clear on the fact that the maximum image width cannot exceed the theme column width, and that there has to be some padding on either side?
Tonal – Quick specs all measurements in pixels (unless otherwise stated) and maximum measurements on desktop
The main column width is 680.
The widget areas are 30%

I checked out the featured images in the full width pages on the live demo site. http://tonaldemo.wordpress.com/
Example image: http://tonaldemo.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/tumblr_mxrva40plz1st5lhmo1_1280-e1394300785426.jpg?w=1280&h=771
Image info 1,280px × 771px (scaled to 962px × 580px)

Thanks for your help and time, timetheif :-)
My question is this: on the demo site, the image width is far greater than the column width for the text, see first post on this page: http://tonaldemo.wordpress.com). I love that design/layout and want it! But when I post images they become the same width as the text column, which I assume is less wide (and not the same thing) as the theme column width?

I’m sorry I can’t help but another Volunteer or Staff will be able to assist you so hang in there please.

Hi Maria,
The wider images you see in the Tonal demo are Featured Images. You can add wide images like that by adding the image as a featured image on the post, rather than adding the image to the post content in the editor.
You can find more details about setting up that theme on the Tonal theme support page. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
