Full width page does not appear to work

I have selected a full width page display, but my text appears in the narrow strip in the centre, between what would normally be the side bars on either side. How do I get the text to fill the page?

I had done that already, but it still leaves a very large margin on either side of the text. I don’t want those margin. How do I fix this. Is there some CSS editing that can be done?
