Full-Width Page Template — need help on Album theme
-
I cannot seem to get a full-width page on my blog posts. Everything, including the comments from readers seems all on the right side of the page (not when you first click on my blog, but after you click on a particular post’s “read more” button, and you’re led to the post itself).
I paid $75 for this Album theme in June, and I’m regretting it. I don’t want to give up and change to another theme at this point, since I’ve been on this Album theme only since June 2015.
I spoke with someone at WP who chatted with me just now (forgot her name), and she said there are folks here who could help me with CSS.
Since I don’t know anything about CSS, and am not a programmer, please help me!Thanks so much!

Hi Vijaya, we can help with this. on the single post pages, the post metadata is on the left (categories, etc.). We have some options. One would be to narrow that section down and increase the width of the content area or let it float over toward the left and more centered. We can also do away with the metadata on the left and make the content full width. Go to Appearance > Customize > CSS, delete all the informational text in that window, and paste in the following custom CSS to make your single post pages full width.
.single .show-meta { display: none; } .single .col-sm-7 { width: 100%; }I will offer that very wide content areas make text harder to read for visitors. In general, although it is more involved than this, text based content should be around 500-750px. With the single post pages at 100% width, as with the above code, you are out at nearly 1200px in width.
Let me know what you think with the above code.
