Full WordPress backup(posts, pics, theme, settings?)
-
Hello, I was wondering if I could get a full backup of my wordpress install from kaysenphoto.wordpress.com so that I can use it on my new host. I tried the export/import feature and that moved all my posts over which is great, but it still links to wordpress for the images, and its going to be a pain to setup all my settings over again. May I please get a backup of some sort. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks, Christian -
You certainly cannot get the theme; they are adapted for use at WP.com. You can probably get a similar or identical-looking theme from the designer; there should be a link to the designer on your theme. You will have to move the images one at a time or just leave them on your WP account, where the links to them will all continue to work. If you move them, you’ve got to replace them in each post you made. You’ll have to make your own settings at the new site as well, especially since independent blogs are quite different and have many different options.

There’s also this suggestion:

The WordPress 2.5 importer has a file download feature that will move your photos for you.
WordPress.com themes are all open source. Unsleepable is here:
http://svn.automattic.com/wpcom-themes/unsleepable/
It might not run on a stock WP install without minor modifications.

One version for the stand-alone version of unsleepable is here: http://themes.wordpress.net/columns/2-columns/296/unsleepable_v16/ although there may be some differences between theme, version wise.
