Fullsizerender not supported in iOS App?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi.
I just realized that when I e-mail a picture into my blog, I can click and render it to a fullsize picture (at the moment first on top).
But when adding a picture through my iOS app on my ipad, it is only shown in the small size as posted to my blog (second one from the top).

Is this a bug or feature?
Is there a way to also fullsizerender pictures upload by the app?

    Thx alot

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi!

First, you’ll want to navigate to Me -> Account Settings within the app. You’ll want to make sure the slider for “Max Image Upload Size” is at a suitable size. Otherwise, your photo will be cropped at the onset.

Then, when you’re adding an image within a post, tap on the image after you’ve added it. You should see an Edit link like this:

    http://d.pr/i/122q9

Once you click the “Edit Link,” you should see a field for “Size” as shown here:

    http://d.pr/i/16sTy

From there, you can change the size of the image to make sure it’s full size. Can you give that a try and let me know if you have any trouble?

    Good morning.
OK, on all devices the Me – Accountsettings was already set to …Original.

I then tried your second hint, tapped (what I never did before) EDIT, but there all was set to FULL already. After storing, now the picture is bigger than the whole framein my firefox under Windows 8.1.

I then uploaded the picture again, without Edit, and there we go again without a fullsizerender.

    Hi again.
I upload a screen (showing the difference in sizes of those two uploads), and clean up my blog again.

    Hi @miciphone,

Just so we’re on the same page, are you using the app to create these posts or doing it within browser? One of your lines made me think it’s possibly the latter:

After storing, now the picture is bigger than the whole framein my firefox under Windows 8.1.

Also, when you say “fullsizerender,” do you mean the default size of the image within the text or how the image appears when clicked?

Lastly, could you upload a new post with an image so I can check out the issue live on your site? If you could momentarily update an old post with an image and provide the title, I’m happy to take a look!

    Hi.
I upload either by app, by browser or by e-mail.
If I upload by browser or by e-mail, my pictures are able to be “fullsizerendered” in a new window. I can click them in order for a bigger view.

Fullsizerender for me is when I click an image for a bigger view (fullsizerender is then shown in the adressbar).

If I upload a picture with the app, the picture stays as in the preview when you scroll down the site.

The screenshot shows a one-time bug after I touched an uploaded picture within the app-settings. Let´s forget that.

OK, fullsizerender is not shown at the moment.
If you look at my page and the last 2 pictures:
One (the top one) uploaded by app stays one size.
The one below was added by e-mail and is resizeable.

    Thx

Thanks so much for clarifying! The difference is that when you add an image via email or through the desktop browser, the image URL field is automatically populated. This is where the reader is directed to when they click on the image.

On your desktop post, you can see the URL filled in here:

    http://d.pr/i/1kjCS

On the mobile app, you’ll notice that the “Link to” field is empty:

    http://d.pr/i/1gT5u

That means the reader isn’t being directed anywhere when they click on the image.

We’re working on a better implementation of the “Link to” field, but for right now, the main solution would be to click over to the HTML tab within the mobile app using the “HTML” option in the toolbar. From there, you can grab the URL after “src” and paste that URL into the “Link to” field.

I apologize for the extra work. I’ll update you when we have this fixed!

I have to thank you for your time and support.
As I know now about the why, it´s an easy workaround either through the app or just stick to e-mailing.

    Have a great evening
