Fuzzy Header Image
-
The image on my blog was fine but I wanted the name of the blog on the image instead of above it so I added the title of the blog onto the image (using MS Paint) and then uploaded it and it looks fuzzy. Its the same picture from before so why would it look fuzzy?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
btw, the picture with the added words is crystal clear on my computer. Dont know why its so fuzzy when uploaded.

Perhaps because wordpress has dropped your image resolution, avoid your blog too heavy ??
May be…. -

It doesn’t have to do with the resolution, it has to do with the pixel dimensions. But your current header image doesn’t have the blog name on it. Which image are you talking about?
-
I have been messing around with it. I got it to just about 940×198 like it says on the page is optimum, but it still looks bad. I will leave it up for a few minutes.

For best results you need to create images in the exact pixel dimensions the theme requires. The URL of the image you now added is this:
http://thusspokejon.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/cropped-thus-spoke-jon-sombrero-galaxy-from-hubble-cropped1.jpg
The word “cropped” in the image name shows that the original was not 940×198 pixels. -
well, I didnt take the picture of the galaxy, NASA did. So I added the words, and cropped it to as close as I could get – just a few pixels off. When It was larger, the wordpress cropper should have made it fine, but it looked bad then too
-
As I said, you need to create images in the exact pixel dimensions the theme requires. “Few pixels off” or “larger” won’t do.
“When It was larger, the wordpress cropper should have made it fine”. Not necessarily: depends on the aspect ratio.
If you wish, you can upload your original version via Media > Add New, then click Edit, copy the File URL and paste the URL here so I can see what you’re talking about.
-
That’s the URL of a dashboard screen. I don’t have access to your dashboard. If you uploaded the original image, go to Media > Library, hover over the image thumbnail, click Edit and copypaste the File URL.
