gaining access to private site for my guests

  I need some help with my private (wedding)site.

  1. is it possible to invite people to the site, gaining access, without them having a wordpress.som account. Eg by sending them an email with accesscode (uwername/password)?

  What I understand now (is that correct?) is that I need to send every person individual an invitation via ‘users — invite new’.
  Then the person receiving the mail need to create an account with woprdpress.com in order to get access. Which is not what most of my guests want to do, too much work :):)

  2. Is it possible to send the invotation mail to more than 1 person at the same time. I have tried that, but nobody did get an email. If it is possible: how to do that? Do I need to use ‘;’ or ‘,’ in between mailadresses?

  Hi Theo,

  1. Correct. Invited users who don’t already have a WordPress.com account will need to register one. If you have set the whole blog as private, this is the only route you can invite them. There’s also a possibility of keeping the blog public, but password-protecting individual posts or pages. Then, your guests will only have to enter a password on posts/pages to view them.

  2. Yes, invitations can be sent to a maximum of 10 emails at once. You have to separate them via commas like this:
