Galactic 2 Theme Featured Image streched

  I’m not sure why, but I upload an image that is definitely bigger then the recommended size of 1140 px and 460 px, but the image looks stretched/blurry and the large swaths of its edges were cut off.

  I tried cropping an image to the exact size of 1140 and 460 and the same thing happens.

  It mentions that based on the dimensions, the image would be cropped, but its the original image is a landscape image.

  Is this an issue with the theme itself? I don’t have access to the CSS to change it.

  Hi rolandshum,

  I’ve checked the original image in your Media Library and while it is large enough (1470px × 501px), I can see some blurring there:

  

  This becomes more visible and exaggerated as the image is scaled to fit larger devices. You can see this also happens to some degree on the Intergalactic theme demo site:

  I recommend choosing a different image or finding a higher quality version of the one you are using.

  Is there any way to make it high res on my end? It still looks stretched.

  Hi there,

  You really need high-res images for that theme in order to be displayed sharp when viewed in largen screens. I have found that using images of at least 1200px in height will produce sharper images. This is happening because of the way the theme crops and zooms images.

  You can try it with some high-res from https://www.pexels.com/
