gallery and separate images in same post

  Please can someone advise me I have been struggling with this for a few hours now!!

  I have created a post with a gallery but now I would like to add more pictures to my post without them showing up in the gallery too, how on earth do I do this??

  Yes. Actually, when insert a gallery (at first) it also gives such an option to exclude images (I haven’t tried it yet).

  Thanks guys! I want to try using the short code but am now struggling to get the id number of the image (hovering over it in media library doesn’t work)?

  You hover over the image title in the Media Library and look at the progress/status bar of your browser.

  But if you want to insert many images, it’s not very convenient. One of the other ways to do it is upload the images via Media > Add New, then go to the post editor and insert them (use the Add an Image tool again, but now select Media Library instead of From computer).
