Gallery appears in a greyish panel instead of black on black theme background
-
I am in the process of building my website. I have put up my first gallery (people) but it looks patchy, rather than seamless, because it appears as a dark grey panel on a true black background. Under settings, media, I selected “black” for the gallery background. My theme (Nishita) is a true black. Is there a way that I can display my gallery so that it blends into the background and doesn’t appear to be in a box? I am very new to this so any help much appreciated!

Hi Alli!
To keep the slideshow (instead of one of the other gallery styles), the box will always be there. But we could change the color of the box to match the rest of your site.
If you’ll add this CSS in your site’s Customizer, it will change the off-black color to the same shade as the rest of your site’s background.

Under settings, media, I selected “black” for the gallery background.
That setting is referring to the Photo/Image Carousel which will open when you use one of the other Gallery styles instead of the slideshow and someone clicks on the image.
