Gallery Block Displays Images in Single Column

    I have a blog where I post images in the Gallery Block on a regular basis. Typically each Gallery has between 3 and 100 images in it. I use the Block editor and set the columns to 3. In the editor, everything looks fine. I haven’t reviewed the actual published posts in about 1-2 months. Today I looked at the latest published post https://36yrdream.com/2023/11/06/saturday-november-5-2023/ and found that the gallery is displaying as a single column. I then went back in time to published posts I had previously reviewed after publication, which had displayed with three columns, and they are also now showing as a single column https://36yrdream.com/2023/06/28/monday-june-26-2023/#more-28324. Can you provide any help? I am using the Plane theme.

    I’m having the exact same issue of galleries becoming a single column, but using the Gazette theme. All of my posts with galleries have been affected. Blog is Sky Corner.

    Hi @vr1218 when I visit your post, for me the gallery is showing correctly. Here is what I see:

    Can you share a screenshot of what you are seeing on your end? Also can you go here, and copy the link you see there, and paste it here to share your computer details with us? https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/

    The link you will want to copy looks something like this: whatsmybrowser.org/b/XXXXX

    Also do you have this same issue if you use a different browser, or better yet a different device or computer, and let us know if you see the same issue there as well?

    Hi,

    I just checked and it is working for me now as well. I did check on both Chrome and Firefox. My browser details are attached below.

    I had also tried it in my dual booted Win 10 install on the same computer with Chrome and saw the same issue.

    I guess this is resolved, though I am afraid that the issue will show up again…

    Thanks @vr1218. If you see it again, can you grab a full-size screenshot so we can see what you’re seeing?

    Also, our galleries are responsive for smaller screens and will go down to one column at some widths — any chance you were using a smaller window when this happened?

    I will definitely forward a screenshot if it happens again. I was using a 1920×1080 screen which generally shows three columns. One thing that occurred to me was that I don’t explicitly set the gallery block to three columns. I leave it at the default, which is three columns. So, if the global default for gallery blocks got accidentally set to one column for all galleries, then it might behave in the way I observed.

    My windows are always maximized, so the window size was essentially full screen.

    Hi @staff-totoro, all galleries on my blog Sky Corner have also magically been fixed. I too was seeing the issue on all browsers, Firefox, Chrome and Edge. Galleries were appearing as one column even with browser windows maximised. I’ll keep an eye on it, and if I see the issue again I’ll report back.
