Gallery from Media Library, no Gallery Tag to be found

I’m getting super frustrated here. I cannot seem to pull a gallery together for a Page from my media library images (all of which are attached to a post.) Is there something I’m missing? There is simply NO gallery button showing up anywhere. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
. Made and saved a draft and inserted a few images
. Tried the “click save updates” forced reload
. Tried the “click on the media library tab” forced reload
. read the support faq on Galleries multiple times
. read all the threads I can find with a search function about the same problemThis isn’t rocket science – what am I doing wrong? {please tell me I don’t have to reload the entire batch of photos :( }

The Gallery TAB appears in the Image Uploader after you’ve uploaded your images to the Post or Page where you want them to appear. It never appears in the Media Library.

Thanks for the comment justjennifer – however, I’m not seeing it in the image uploader either after loading in multiple images into the page. I simply cannot find that darned Gallery button at any point.

OK, went back and watched the video again with fresh eyes – the issue seems to be that I cannot select more than one file from my media library (which then triggers the Gallery Tab) The video says to drag the cursor over multiple files or cntrl click – neither of which work.
Any ideas?

Also, what browser are you using?

mpaul – if your images were uploaded together into a Post/Page, after you click the “Save Changes” in the Image Uploader following upload, the images should all appear under the Gallery Tab that appears in the Image Uploader. You don’t insert them via the Media Library Tab.
Still suggest you read the portion of the FAQ I mentioned above. :)

Yes, I did check out your FAQ – three times now :) nice work! Very informative stuff there – but I did see that the screenshot of the insert gallery showed an upload from your computer.
I’m trying to make my gallery from the media library itself – a compilation of images already used in posts.
I’m using IE for a browser – can’t really change that, ick.

Cross posting ftw lol – let’s see if I can clarify this a bit more.
The images are not grouped together. They are individually used in multiple posts. They are all listed (and attached to their various posts) in the media library. I have the option of uploading them to this new page with the Image Uploader via the Media Library tab.
I really don’t want to upload them twice just to get a gallery set up, but that’s what it sounds like I’ll have to do.

Yep, here’s why: (and so glad I refreshed the page before hitting the submit button! LOL)
A Gallery can only be created from the images that are uploaded (attached) to a specific Post or Page. At the present time you cannot create a Gallery from images that are already present in the Media Library and uploaded (attached) to a different Post or Page.
Having said that, besides reuploading the images to the Post/Page where you want them to appear, you can use an HTML table and enter the thumbnails into each cell and then link the thumbnail to its relative image. But, I think reuploading and using a Gallery would be faster.
