Gallery links to attachment page have no effect

  I am using the TwentySeventeen theme and default image gallery widget.

  All I want to do is have a grid of thumbnails, and, when the user clicks on a thumbnail, link to a new page with a larger version of the image.

  I don’t want to link to the original media. Based on what I can find online, it seems that linking to the images’s attachment page would be perfect.

  But when I select “Attachment Page” from the image’s block settings link drop-down, and publish the page, nothing happens when I click on the thumbnail.

  I’ve been searching the web and it seems that all of the information I can find is out of date.

  Any help would be much appreciated. It seems like this should be such a simple thing to do. (It probably is and I’m just overlooking something.)

  Looks like the support forum appended the wrong blog to my post. It should be 40x4x28.com.
