Gallery Post always clickable – how to change?

  From the instructions, I read that I can change a Gallery Post by clicking on an image, then selecting Block and setting Linking to one of 3 options. If I choose None I can still click on the image and I get the carousel. How do I prevent that – what can I troubleshoot to fix this?

  Furthermore, if I change it to Attachment Page, I can’t find any good instructions for how to set the attachment page – can someone provide. Is the page per image? If not, how can I make the image direct to a specific page without having to buy a plan (I’m just starting out and using the free option).

  So I can’t see a way to edit my original question – too bad. Is that possible?

  If not, I’ll note – I I just figured out how to add a link to each image – great! This is better than I thought so far.
