Hi floerwin,
Sorry to read you’re having difficulty with the “gallery” post configuration.
To address the first question: I don’t believe that a preview of your carousel will appear in the homepage. Have you found documentation that suggests otherwise?
As for your second question, is it possible that you accidentally selected your first image separate from the gallery. If so, you can go in and edit the post and remove the first image and the gallery should remain.
I found this suggestion just above the link here – https://en.support.wordpress.com/gallery/#editing-a-gallery-or-slideshow
Note: If you select Individual Images, this will not create a gallery, but instead it will add the images to the page as though you had added them one by one. It isn’t possible to convert from Individual Images into a gallery style.
This page offers a number of troubleshooting options that you might want to review too. :)
Please post a reply if you need more assistance,
Jamesp.s. Great pics on your site!

Hi james ! Thanks for the quick answer !
On the theme description page they display all different posts that can be made : https://wordpress.com/theme/baskerville-2The one named “Outside of the frame” with the picture of the camera seems to suggest that we can scroll to see other pictures. See ?
Thanks again !

HI Floerwin
Here is information on how you can create a post format of “Gallery” to utilize the scrolling images. You will want to add the gallery to that post first.

Hello @arzuozbekakay,
Unfortunately it does not look like what I thought I could do with this theme.I’m trying to create a post similar to this one :

Maybe it’s not a gallery post but the thumbnail suggests so. -
Hello @floerwin,
You are correct that it’s a gallery post type, as displayed in the live theme demo for Baskerville 2.
I’ve been testing this with a couple of other users, and I am having the same issue with the theme that you are — I can’t replicate the demo theme effect either, but another user could. I will try to find out whether this is a known issue or bug that needs to be brought to the attention of staff (or if I’m missing something).
In the meantime, you could try going into your Theme Customizer and selecting Content Options, then under “Featured Images” unchecking “Automatically use first image in post” to see if this fixes it – I know it worked for another user.
I’ll keep looking into this and let you know if I find a better solution.

I don’t see any posts with the gallery post format on your site.
To get the effect you see on the demo, you need to do two main things:
1 – select the Gallery post format for the post – https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-formats/
2 – add a gallery to the post – https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-formats/
Let me now how it goes.
