Gallery problem

  I’m trying to add a gallery of images (movie posters in this case) to a post, and can’t get it to work. Instead of rows of images, the text just appears in the post as follows: [gallery link="file" columns="4" orderby="rand"]

  Any idea what I’m doing wrong? I’ve done similar posts before and not had this issue. Would be grateful to receive any advice.

  How are you inserting the Gallery after uploading your images, manually writing the shortcode or using the insert gallery button from the Gallery tab in the Image Uploader?

  I’m using the “insert gallery button”. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t have a clue how to write my own shortcode. But I’m about to click those links you’ve added…

  Yes, the uploader seems to be failing on that one post. I’m going to try another one.

  These are posts that I’m scheduling weeks in advance so that I can have a “gallery of the week” posted every seven days even while I’m away, which is why they’re not up for all to see yet. I’ll see if the same thing happens on the next one and work out if something different is happening. Thanks for paying attention so far, though…

  It shouldn’t matter if they are scheduled posts or not, really.

  Try also logging out completely from WordPress.com and deleting your cache and cookies.http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

  If it does continue to happen, may I suggest that you contact Support directly with your OS and browser information because we forum volunteers have no access to the back end of things. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
