Gallery Slideshow Background Color
-
Is it possible to change the slideshow background from black to white in the wordpress.com free blog? Or even resize it to fit the images displayed? The slideshow I’m wanting to use is 1024×1024 and it looks really bad in that large black ‘framed’ viewer. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes. Go to Settings > Media and scroll down to select:
Image Gallery Carousel
Background color white in the drop down
“save changes” -
I did that and it’s still black. Is the carousel the actual slider or is it when you click on the image and the viewer that pops up and that background is changed? I’m a little confused what the carousel is.

Image galleries on WordPress.com are a great way to share the pictures you’ve taken with your friends, family, and your followers. An image gallery will display a set of thumbnail images attached to a particular post or page. When clicked, gallery images are displayed in a full-size carousel view, or you can choose the slideshow option to have them move forward automatically. Readers can click on any image to launch a full-size carousel (that’s when the background color appears) that allows them to scroll through the entire gallery one image at a time.

Ok, I see. So my question then is not for the carousel rather the black background that is on a slideshow that is rectangular by default. That’s what I would like to be white. Or again, if I could resize the slideshow to fit the square images that would work too. Thanks again.

Based on the link you’ve provided, I’m guessing my answer is that I cannot change it. Maybe that could be in a future update, more slideshow customizations. Appreciate your help.

Is their not a way to change the colour of the slideshow background (dark grey box) by CSS? Also to get rid of the rounded corners, it doesn’t match the style of my current site.

@faireunvoeu: Yes, you can get rid of the grey bg. See this post of mine:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/04/16/custom-frame-around-slideshow/@sashee4: Yes, you can change it via CSS editing if you have the Custom Design upgrade. But a) CSS editing questions should be posted in the CSS forum, b) the blog linked to your username is unused.
