Gallery widget – adjusting image size within "Slideshow" setting

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I added a Gallery widget on my Sidebar and set it to the “Slideshow” setting, and the image doesn’t seem to fill out the whole slideshow. Rather, it looks like a thumbnail version within the slideshow.

Is there any way to adjust the image size within the slideshow and have it fill out the sidebar?

Also, is there a way to link these images within the Slideshow setting?

    Thanks!

Hi, Gallery widget is simple and you can’t adjust image size within Slideshow setting. Also you can’t link images within the Slideshow setting (but you can within other settings).

This support article describes all Gallery widget features:

There are actually two ways you can add a Gallery slideshow to your theme’s sidebar: One is using the Gallery widget. The second is by adding a Text widget using the Gallery slideshow shortcode. Something like:

    [gallery type="slideshow" include="xxxx,xxxx,xxxx"]

Where xxxx is the image ID of your images. See here:

How large the images display depends on the width of the sidebar of your theme (plus padding, etc.). Since you have posted this in the CSS Customization forum, perhaps someone who is more versed in CSS can help you with that, if that is what you want.

Regardless of what type of Gallery style you choose, you cannot link the Gallery images to anything other than the Photo Carousel, an image attachment page or the image itself.
