Gallery widget not working

  Hi there @rebeccadeniston

  Can you clarify if you are referring to the Gallery Block or maybe you are using a deprecated Gallery Widget?

  Also, if you are using the Gallery Block, there are three ways to reorder images, you can check them here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/gallery-block/#reorder-images-in-a-gallery

  Does the problem happen with all of the methods or in one in particular?

  Any other information on how the error happens would be great for me to replicate the same conditions.

  I’m using the current Gallery widget. You’re supposed to be able to re-order images by dragging and dropping, so when it doesn’t work it’s a huge pain because every time I add something to the gallery I have to take all the images out and re-add them.

  This is a known issue with the gallery. WordPress.com developers are working on it, so you just have to be a bit patient.

  Hi there,

  WordPress 5.9.1 was released on WordPress.org yesterday containing the fix for this issue. All WordPress.com sites have already been updated with this new version, so reordering images in galleries should work again, but please let us know if you still have any issues with this.
