Gallery/Preview posts with Coraline Theme
-
So I’m practically brand new with CSS and would like help on two simple things. The first one is how do I change the link, hover-over link, visited links colors? I only want the color to change (from dark gray to red) with the underline when the mouse is hovered-over, and the same link color for the visited one (dark gray).
The second thing I need help with is how I can put my 5 recent posts on my site in Gallery/Preview form? Meaning like just one picture, the first one or two sentences, and then the link for “continue reading” for each post.
Thanks!

Can’t help with your first question, but for your second question, you can change those posts to the “Gallery” Post Format, since Coraline supports both Gallery and Asides. See here http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/post-formats/
Since Coraline does not support the Excerpt function, you could also use the “More” tag with a lead thumbnail. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

And another workaround for Coraline http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/08/18/gallery-format-as-custom-excerpt/

The following will take care of most of the links (non-hover, visited and hover).
a { color: #0060FF; } a:visited { color: #333333; } a:active, a:hover { color: #DF0000; }Entry title and other h1, etc., text would be here.
h1 a:hover, h2 a:hover, h3 a:hover { color: #009900; }
