Thanks for the link. It did take quite some time for the images to load, but I am seeing photos in your slideshow on that page.
When images are displayed in a slideshow, it will not start until all the images have loaded in the browser. If you have a lot of very large images, this can take a lot of time. For those on slow connections, it could be the difference between staying to see the images or clicking away.
There is a real disadvantage in uploading huge images (both in pixel dimensions and MB) to a slideshow that only displays them at 640 pixels width. Take a look at the theme Showcase page for Twenty Ten and at the bottom and you will see the recommended sizes for images.
Uploading such huge images (014 is nearly 5.5MB) will also quickly eat up your storage space. In order to maximize your storage and preserve image clarity, you should resize and optimize those images before uploading them. https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/
