Gap on my home page
-
There is a huge gap in my home page between the header pic and the blog posts. I can’t find a way to move the blog post part up and close the gap. The gap only appears on the home page and not the other pages. I don’t want there to be a header in that gap on the home page as there is on other pages. What can I do to move the test up.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That space isn’t supposed to be empty. The homepage on Academica isn’t designed to display the latest posts, it’s designed to display a static page, with a different page setup to display the latest posts. In this case, the “gap” would be no gap: it would house the title of the posts page. Check the demo and click on “News”:
http://academicademo.wordpress.com/Since you want the posts on the homepage, and since you have the Custom Design upgrade, you can reduce the gap. Add this in the CSS editor:
.home .column-title { height: 36px; }Change the number to adjust the space.

Thanks for your response. I did as you indicated, changing the pixel size to see what I think looks good. However it doesn’t seem to have had any affect on the page at all. I copied the code in exactly as you suggested. Any advice?
