Gaps between post title and content

Can anyone tell me why there is such a big gap between my post title and content?

Recipe: Elderflower Cordial (Review and Do)

It does not appear with this big a gap in the editor and I can’t work out a way to make it smaller.

    Thanks!

  • Hi there – I see exactly what you are referring to.

There is a subtle difference between the editor view and the website view. I made some notations on a screenshot here to highlight them: https://d.pr/i/zOcqGg

First, notice that for the Hever theme the website view sets lines above and below the post title. They are very faint, but they are there.

Second, notice that the spacing between the post title, lower line, and the first block is identical spacing.

On the Free plan there’s not a way to reduce this spacing because it’s designed into the Hever theme you are using. With the Premium plan, however, some CSS could be applied to adjust that to your liking, if that’s of interest to you.

If you’re curious about what CSS is, here’s more info: https://wordpress.com/support/custom-design/css-support/

On the Premium plan it’s something our Happiness Engineers could help you with over email or live chat, because this is considered a minor theme adjustment.
