Gaps, occasionally on Borders for Tables. ???

  Since I have begun to use, Borders for Tables, I get gaps. Not related to using colspan.
  Using both Google Chrome and IE (?) 11. Seen on other computers, also.
  Examples:
  2 borders, 1 with gap. POST GUTENBERG faked it by using background-color

  6 borders, 2 with gaps WIRED & WIRELESS, and (in the year 1795) again faked with background-color

  3 borders, 2 with gaps. Again, fudging it with background-color
