  Hi,
  I can’t get access to this blog, the message i get says – Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.
  What do i need to do?

  Hi there,

  Please provide few more details which will help in understanding why this issue is caused.

  1. Did you purchase domain ‘garagescience.org’ via WordPress.com or you’ve mapped this domain?

  2. If you have mapped this domain to your site then did you purchase an upgrade plan?

  3. Also confirm did you do the following?
  – After you have made your purchase, go to the Settings > Domains page, select the radio button next to the domain you just mapped to your blog, and click the Update Primary Domain button.

  Hi,

  A friend purchased this domain ‘garagescience.org’ via WordPress.com last year and gave me administrative access to it. I haven’t updated this blog for a while and now that i need to use it, i’m having trouble getting access to it. i confess i’m a complete novice at this hence i cant quite answer the questions you have put forth.

  Thanks for mentioning that your friend purchased the domain with WordPress.com. Don’t bother yourself with other questions.

  I’ve added modlook tag in sidebar for staff assistance. Staff will confirm the behaviour and help you better at this. Wait, you’ll soon get the desired help :)

  Hi there,

  The user who owned the domain garagescience.org cancelled that domain on 8 September, according to our logs.

  At this point it’s still possible to ask our registrar to restore the domain, but the domain is already in redemption, meaning they’ll charge us $80 to do this, and more importantly we can only try to get it back is that user asks us to do it. Your friend may have given you access to the domain, but they didn’t transfer ownership to you, so we cannot recover the domain at your request.

  I suggest you get in touch with your friend and have them contact us if the domain shouldn’t have been cancelled.

  They can contact us via the contact form here:

  https://wordpress.com/help/contact

  That will connect them to live chat support or otherwise email support, as they have a Business Plan on their site.
